Tara N. Ward
Attorney, Owner – Ward & Ward PLLC

Tara is the founding attorney of Ward & Ward PLLC and a proud native of Hartford, Kentucky. She earned her B.A. in Economics from Western Kentucky University before graduating with her Juris Doctor from Washington University in St. Louis. She was admitted to the Kentucky Bar in 2009 and is also licensed to practice in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Kentucky.

Tara primarily focuses her practice on probate, wills and estate planning, and real estate law. A passionate small-town advocate, she represents several local municipalities and actively serves on a number of community boards. Outside the office, Tara enjoys reading, music, and spending time outdoors. She lives in Hartford with her husband, son, three dogs, two cats, two miniature donkeys, and whatever animal joins the family next.

Chase Ward
Attorney

Chase is a Hartford native and a dedicated advocate for his clients, especially in the area of family law. After earning his B.A. in History from Western Kentucky University, he received his Juris Doctor from Western Michigan University School of Law and was admitted to practice law in Kentucky in 2019. He now spends most of his days in family courtrooms across the region, guiding clients through some of life’s most challenging moments with compassion and tenacity. Fluent in Spanish, Chase is proud to serve the Hispanic community and provide accessible, reliable legal representation.

Outside the courtroom, Chase enjoys traveling, cooking, and cheering on University of Kentucky sports. He’s also a tennis enthusiast (both playing and watching), a lifelong learner of languages, an avid reader, and a devoted fan of Lord of the Rings and Game of Thrones. At home, he loves spending time with his girlfriend, Evie, and their lovable pack of dogs.

Kimberley O'Brien
Legal Assistant

Kimberley works hand-in-hand with Tara to keep everything running smoothly — from keeping the office stocked and organized to bravely taming the ever-finicky copier. Affectionately known as our “Office Mom,” Kimberley brings heart, humor, and a steady hand to the team every day.

She lives in Hartford with her husband and grandson and enjoys gardening, traveling, and keeping all of us in line with a smile.

Abby Huffines
Legal Assistant

Abby works closely with Chase, managing his ever-changing court schedule and keeping things on track with energy and a big smile. She brings a bright, upbeat presence to the office — complete with plants, doodads, and fun little gadgets that make her workspace uniquely hers.

Abby lives in Hartford with her two sons. She loves live music, animals of all kinds, and is rarely seen without a snack in hand — which is just one more reason we all adore her.

Seymour is our beloved Aussie Doodle and the heart of the office. He was rescued by Tara right here in Hartford, cleaned up, and given a forever home — and now, he insists on coming to work every day. If Tara’s headed out the door, you can bet Seymour’s racing her to the car, ready for duty.

As the unofficial HR rep and in-house therapist, Seymour takes his job of greeting every client seriously (especially if they have treats). He’s known for boosting morale, stealing pizza puffs, and reminding us all to take a break and pet the dog. Seymour is an irreplaceable member of our team — and yes, a very good boy.
